Serving the Community

Saint Mary’s Catholic School strives to provide an environment in which each student is challenged to reach the highest level of formation: academic, spiritual, social and athletic.

Leadership & Social Awareness
Leadership skills are developed though many opportunities for the middle school students to mentor or be a “buddy” to younger students. Fifth grade students are paired up with K4 students and participate in activities with their “buddies” each year until they graduate from St. Mary’s. Middle school students also learn leadership skills through the program, “Meeting in the Middle”. Students in Grade Six and Eight spend several days at Camp Greenville for leadership and environmental training.

The students have the opportunity to develop genuine interpersonal and social skills though many volunteer opportunities in the surrounding community. Each grade selects a class service project which they coordinate, organize and publicize to involve the entire student body. These include but are not limited to:

Mentoring younger students (buddies)
Student Ambassador opportunities
Holy Childhood Mission Awareness
Scouting
Food Drive for the Poor Clare Nuns
Winter Outer Wear Drive to benefit the homeless
Toy Drive for Project Host
Birthright
Meyer Center
